Medicare — Chronic Disease Management Plan
If you have a chronic health condition, your GP may be able to refer you to see an Exercise Physiologist under a Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan — also known as a GP Management Plan or GPCCMP. This plan entitles eligible patients to up to 5 subsidised allied health sessions per calendar year, with a Medicare rebate of $63.40 applied to each session. To access this benefit, simply speak to your GP about whether a Chronic Disease Management Plan is appropriate for you. Once your GP has completed the referral, contact us to book your initial assessment. You will pay the session fee upfront, and Medicare will rebate $63.40 directly to your bank account, typically by the next business day. Medicare sessions are available to patients managing conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, chronic pain, obesity, and many other chronic health conditions.
Private Health Fund
If you hold private health insurance with extras cover that includes Exercise Physiology, you may be entitled to a rebate on your sessions with us. The rebate amount varies depending on your fund and the level of cover you hold — we recommend contacting your fund directly to confirm your entitlements before your first appointment. We process private health fund claims on the spot through the HealthPoint system, meaning your rebate is applied immediately at the time of payment. No GP referral is required to access Exercise Physiology through your private health fund, making it one of the most straightforward ways to get started. We accept all major health funds including Medibank, Bupa, HCF, NIB, and many others.
WorkSafe Victoria
If you have been injured at work and have an accepted WorkCover claim, you may be entitled to Exercise Physiology as part of your rehabilitation and recovery. WorkSafe Victoria funds Exercise Physiology services to help injured workers regain their strength, function, and capacity to return to work safely. A GP referral is required before your first session, and your managing WorkSafe agent — such as EML, Gallagher Bassett, or Allianz — must approve Exercise Physiology as a treatment for your accepted injury. Once approved, there is no out-of-pocket cost to you as the worker — WorkSafe pays us directly. Our goal is to work alongside your treating team to support your recovery and help you return to work as safely and quickly as possible.
TAC — Transport Accident Commission
If you have been injured in a transport accident in Victoria, the TAC may fund your Exercise Physiology sessions as part of your recovery. TAC covers the cost of treatment for injuries sustained in car, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian accidents. There is no out-of-pocket cost to you for TAC-funded sessions — the TAC pays us directly. Getting the right rehabilitation support early after a transport accident is one of the most important steps you can take toward a full and fast recovery.
NDIS — National Disability Insurance Scheme
Exercise Physiology is a recognised support under the NDIS and can be funded through your NDIS plan under the Capacity Building — Improved Health and Wellbeing category. We work with both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you are self-managed, you pay us directly following each session and then claim reimbursement through your myplace portal. If you are plan-managed, your plan manager pays us directly from your NDIS funds — you simply attend your sessions and we handle the invoicing. Exercise Physiology under the NDIS can help participants build strength, improve mobility and balance, manage chronic health conditions, increase participation in daily activities, and work toward greater independence. We are committed to working collaboratively with participants, their families, and their support coordinators to deliver programs that are meaningful, goal-focused, and aligned with each participant's NDIS plan.
DVA — Department of Veterans' Affairs
We are proud to support Australian veterans and their families through the Department of Veterans' Affairs. A GP referral is required before your first session. We understand the unique health challenges that veterans face — including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, mental health conditions, and the effects of ageing — and we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to those who have served our country. Please contact us to find out more about accessing Exercise Physiology through your DVA entitlements.
Self-Funded — Private Paying Clients
You do not need a referral, a health fund, or a government funding plan to see an Exercise Physiologist. Many of our clients choose to self-fund their sessions because they want to take a proactive approach to their health, improve their fitness and strength, manage a health condition without waiting for a referral, or simply invest in feeling and moving better. Self-funded sessions offer the most flexibility — you can book at any time, there is no paperwork required, and you can focus entirely on your personal health goals. Our fees are transparent and competitive, and we offer the same high standard of clinical care regardless of how your sessions are funded. Contact us today to find out how we can help you reach your health and fitness goals.
